Mental Disorders and Drug Firms ?????

Here is an interesting article called Experts Defining Mental Disorders Are Linked to Drug Firms by Shankar Vedantam. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but isn't there a conflict of interest when the people involved in writing the DSM IV are connected to the pharmaceutical companies.
